A big part of my speech to Tea Parties across the country over the past six weeks has been the idea that the citizens of Illinois have lost control of our government.
Think about it. Here in Illinois we have no initiative and referendum process. If we the people want to see something on the ballot, we really have no chance of getting it there. Especially if it’s going to limit the power of government.
And as far as politicians (our employees) go… we have no recall process. That’s right, we the people (the employer) cannot legally fire politicians (the employees).
Illinois government has gone out of its way to ensure that the people of the state have no direct control over legislation outside of the ballot box on election day. Government was supposed to be in place to ensure we do have control over the process. Instead, government has declared war on our right to be involved.
And guess what? This same machine of political thugs now runs Washington. And I guarantee the machine intends to do the same to the nation that it has done to Illinois.
The results of this monstrosity are readily apparent. Here in Chicago we pay 10.5% sales tax. We not only have to ask government for permission to park each year, we also have to pay $75 for the permit once we actually get the permission!
Need some examples of how our government is scamming us at the federal level?
How about the fact that they’ve lied to us about insurance premium prices in proposed healthcare legislation? Or what about the recent announcement that 40% of our income taxes go towards paying interest on our national debt?
Or how about the fact that the administration is looking to destroy the entire sports fishing industry?
And just look at California. Government out there set up a budget “fix” that only took ten weeks to implode. How in the world are there people left in this country who think government know what it’s doing?
To make matters worse, the majority party in Washington is apparently putting forth a strategy to remain in control. Attack, attack, and attack some more.
No leadership. No solutions. No “change” we can believe in.
Let’s face it, folks. We lost control. And it’s time to get it back.

Look at health care reform. They told us a family would save $2500 ayear when in reality (from Heritage Foundation):
“For a family of four making $69,480 (300% above poverty) the Baucus bill mandates annual health insurance premiums of $8,338, which would be worth the equivalent of over ten months of food, four months of housing or almost two years of utilities.”
And it only gets worse.
Somehow we MUST impose term limits! It makes no difference to which party a politician belongs, they become addicted to the power and money! Once that happens, truth and everything meaningful makes no difference to them. All they care about is becoming more powerful and wealthy.

The government is more than out of control it is corrupt, out of touch, a criminal enterprise that steals our money and does nothing to protect us from insane corporate greed. Worst of all, it tries to keep us in line thru the fear of arrest for crimes that have only been around for the last 100 years, and are not really crimes at all. Some states fine their motorists 100’s even as much as a 1,000 dollars for speeding. Forget to buckle your seat belt be prepared to pay a large fine and get searched if the officer chooses to do so. Grand juries who are suppose to protect us from wrongful prosecution, have become rubber stamps for the police. I could go on an on but it would do no good and peacful protest, millions of people marching on washington, won’t do any good either. We must hit the government where it hurts stop paying taxes quit our jobs and prepare for an economic war. This is the only thing that can stop the insanity. We must do what the Russians did to get rid of communism quit being part of their system but when we do it, we can’t let them come back like the Russians did. The WHO said it best “Don’t get fooled again.”

I am from Chicago – born and raised. I love that City. I now live in Utah. Last year at the tea party I warned folks about the very subject you address in your letter. Obama’s been politically raised in Chicago and Chicago knows how to keep it’s players in power. It will get really ugly and it will be incredibly arogant. There will be no sense of decency. You can expect single mindedness at any cost or by any means.
More conservatives need to be counted and helped to understand this dier position we are in.

So we are not going to take it anymore? What are we going to do!! Is rallying working? The American citizen is becoming more discontented every day. Every day we feel like we are being stabbed in the back by our so called elected officials. When is sanity going to come back to this country? I got a call from the Texas Republican party asking for a donation. I told them NO! Not one red cent until I see someone with the guts to speak out against their own party. Someone that I believe has the country’s interest at heart and not their own bank account, their own job. Is there anybody out there?
I don’t see how this will ever be changed…Other than war.
This is such a nightmare!!! Everyday I wake up to more lunacy from the left. Freedom loving Americans can no longer just go about business as usual and leave governing to our elected officials. Our elected officials seem to have gone off the deep end and can’t be trusted–at all! I don’t want to be in lock step with the ‘one world’, globalism loving left. WE just may need to start voting a very limited number of terms for the congress and hold their feet to the fire to make sure our elected officials don’t sell our freedoms out for power.
I am sending my funds to congressman like Joe Wilson – the “SHOUT” heard round the world – who are not afraid of their own shadows. We also need to send money to the opponents of liberal politicians in tight races even if they are not in our own districts. It is incredibly important to show the liberals that want to vote for Obama health care that we mean business.
We also need to do more than just march and carry signs. I was at the 9-12 march but now we need to take a page from the libs and boycott all prime time shows. We need to stop watching any prime time shows on NBC, CBS & ABC until their ratings drop and they lose enough money to kick their news anchors back to doing their jobs…reporting the news no matter what the party affilation is. Their prime time shows’ profits enable them to carry their news shows’ losses. Once they start losing ratings and money during prime time, they will be forced to make sure that their news shows are more fair and balanced. If we can accomplish that, maybe they won’t ignore us when we march on D.C. and vote on election day.
If you can’t beat them, join them; as the old saying goes.

Back in the 1920’s and 1930’s it took years for Hitler,
Mussolini, and Tojo to gain complete control of their
countries and make their try to take over the world.
How long will it take Obama?
What if (IF) a lot of Obama opponents started a drive to wake
up America by publicizing Obama’s two goals. What if
school kids started chanting the Obama Rules! greeting
to each other at school and reciting the new pledge of
allegiance before each class. What if they made and
passed out banners, letters, e-mails, post cards with the
Two Obama goals?
What would be the shock effect to most Americans (even

What would it cost these Obama opponents in terms of time
And money?
Imagine some of your kids taking hundreds of post cards
to school and passing them around. Would the schools
try to stop the kids (and get freedom of speech and freedom
of the press lawsuits)? Custom post cards can cost about
$100 for 500 cards.
I originally grew up in Central Illinois, moved to Texas for 22 years and moved back here just 10 years ago. I am stunned at how corrupt this state’s political system is. Texas wasn’t perfect but they were decades ahead of Illinois as far as personal freedom, taxes, etc.
My biggest problem with this state is Chicago basically runs the whole show! Until Chicago is able to vote out it’s Daly Machine the rest of us can basically go sit on it. They don’t care!!!
It’s time the rest of Illinois starts picketing Chicago to get our rights back. Where do we start???
I agree with Eric. It appears one short term solution would be to fire every member of Congress. It’s time to take back our great Country.
The other problem with Illinois (why it will never be fixed) is because Republicans can’t vote for their state precinct committeemen. If the party is giving us worthless candidates to vote for such as Judy Baar-Topinka & Mark Kirk and they don’t run anybody worth voting for against incumbents that have been in their seats for decades – we will NEVER have a two-party system in this state. Mike Madigan has said he would vote for SB600 (that gives the IL voter the right to vote for their state committee chair) and Tom Cross (Rep Senate Minority Leader) won’t bring it to the floor. Why? Because he likes the direction of the Republican party in this state? I guess so, it got him elected and re-elected so why change anything? Too bad if the people of this state don’t like it. I saw a video of the new committee chairman, Brady, being grilled about this same issue and the people chanted “No vote, no money” I will NOT support the Republican party in this state until we have a voice that is able to change what’s wrong. Then we are stuck with whatever the Democrats want. Until SB600 is passed us tea party goers are helpless.
I agree with everything you said, in fact I said this over 10 years ago. Lot’s of people thought I was nut’s, but now they believe.
Who cares about Illinois? It’s a mere 1/50th of the problem and NOT on my radar. What’s your point? We already know all this. If you want to contribute to the “grass roots” cause, how about some in-depth investigative reporting instead of regurgitating known facts or whining about them?
This is why we need to adopt something like the Westminster or other Parliamentary system, where our legislatures can be dissolved when they fail to serve us like they should; and, most importantly, we can throw out an incompetent leader with the incompetent legislature.
It has gotten to a point that we have no choice but declare a revolution. In 2010 and 2012, no matter how we vote, we will be stuck. If I vote out my long term republican congressman and put a democrat in, it could possibly be worse than now. I do not want either in. It will require a new person with a new mentality to buck the corruption waiting when they get to Washington.
I see it everywhere that most people are fed up with it. They are apprehensive to suggest a revolution but I am at the point that is where I am and I do not mind saying it for them.
Aside from a revolution, what else can we do? How do we go to election in 2010 and not end up with more democrats and republicans that are party loyalists. They look out for their party even more so than their constituents.
If the TeaParty movement can do anything, it needs to take a stand and rally the troops and tell our government to stop or face our wrath.
I really believe Obama wants one of two things:
1. He is making people very angry and wants to sucker some Republican to take a shot at him or some small group to get someone killed so he can blame America or his enemies and try to get everyone to agree side with him all the way to socialism.
2. He is hitting us with so much unbelieveable stuff that we disconnect and out of frustration get out of the way of him implementing socialism.
Every day I look on drudge and my blood boils. Our Nobel Prize winning President is doing something else that no American wants. How do we stop him and how do we get the country back in order?
I will be voting in the elections and funding those that will vote my wishes but am not overly hopeful that will be enough. We may have to do something radical e.g. no longer pay taxes, go to Washington and shut down government, take up arms and forcibly implement new representatives. I do not know the answer, but just voicing our concerns is not getting us far enough.
Now the SOB’s are going after Fox News, I haven’t watched those guts less Drive by Media’s in years!

I agree with TX_Independent…the tea parties are great but too disjointed geographically and in effort to make a true difference. Americans will have to resort to civil disobedience before anyone in power pays attention. Many would face jail, martial law, an everything ugly you can think of. The tea parties have good intentions but they are an unrecognized gnat to the people in power. The mainstream news barely covers them. Another rally is not the solution, more donations to grass roots efforts is not the solution. Power only pays attention when they take a hit to the pocketbook. Period.

It is the height of arrogance, nothing short of Fascism, and they think they will get away with it. Even if I was in favor of the Health Care package they plan, I would be outraged at this underhanded attempt to shove legislation down our throats like this.
Revolution? You bet we need one!
Obama’s Health Care Reform plan is actually a “Pro-Choice” bill with many loopholes for his agenda. That is one of his plans to see abortions world-wide. Don’t be fooled. He can say whatever he wants to the public, but the bills coming up in Congress don’t coincide with what Obama says. He lies to whatever PAC he is speaking to at the time. No doubt he is a muslim and wants to destroy America. We must vote out all democrats in Congress, and until the Constitution party gets a voice, we must vote in all Republicans. I’m an avid tea-party attendee, but marches and tea parties don’t do enough. Talk to friends, neighbors, co-workers. Listen to the ACLJ, Jay Sekulow on the radio. Good advice there. Get involved, sign petitions by the boatloads and Pray, Pray, Pray.
I sure would love to take my government back, if I knew how, I would do it like right now! Our leaders are steam rolling their socialistic crap right on thru no matter what we do, fax, write letters, call reps., sign petitions, demonstrate, it all falls on deaf ears.
I for one will NOT PAY FOR ABORTION! Not one red cent. We are REALLY angry about the so-called health care reform being rammed thru the Senate.
These people are ruining our free enterprise way of life, they are taking our freedoms away, our Republic, our very Amercanism away from the citizens, the responsible citizens. They are stealing away everything that the precious blood of our American soldiers shed to win.

What’s the answer?
There is exactly one fundamental answer: the power of the purse — the ability to take money from the people. The party that controls the purse has ultimate control of the government because they can strangle the government.
The House of Commons wrested this power from the king in the mid 1600s, and our constitutional framers copied this achievement by giving it to the House of Representatives, as to initiating finance bills.
Now we need to put this power directly into the hands of the people, who are the source of the money. I explain how at my website http://www.ThePeoplesAmendment.com.
Some time in the near future I predict that these criminals in suits will be hunted down like the wolves they are and be brought to justice. We know who they are its a matter of gaining the upper hand. The power to round them up and prosecute them. How much more can we take I ask myself, the injustice is beyond the top.
Again and again, I say this.
Find a candidate who will abide by the Consitution and get that candidate on your ballot.
Get up, walk next door and the door after that until you have meet everyone one of your neighbors.
Gather those who see the problem as you do together once a week to relieve your frsustrations by talking about it and be prepared to go door to door to quality good, honest, trustworthy candidates for Congress in 2010.
The time for action is right around the corner.

Use the minor party with ballot status and/or experience.
They are small enough to take over and some are right up your alley.
The Libertarian’s want so much less govt, it scares most of you. GO FOR IT. You can always add more govt if the Libertarians succeed in getting rid of more than you like. Think how hard it would be for them to actually dismantle what they would like to dismantle and how little expanding they will do if they get elected. You cannot go wrong by supporting more freedom. Your favorite law is very likely not to need to be a separate law. No force or fraud might cover it. : )
