Good evening, All!

I dug deeper on this recall idea and was told by an attorney that even though the people of a state could recall a US Senator, federal law would trump the state recall, preventing his removal. Looks like state recalls can only be used to remove someone from state office.

You might want to keep this in mind next time you vote. Make sure the person you are voting for is going to represent you as you are stuck with them for a long while.

Wow, this is really great! I've been trying to find out if there was a way to recall these traitors, but I found out that it could only be done with local politicians. That's why I've been thinking about getting petitions signed in every state, to get a constitutional amendment placed on the ballot for the next election, that would give WE THE PEOPLE the right to impeach any member of the house, the senate, or even the president, if we find them to be guilty of not upholding the constitutional oath that they swore to, or if they are deemed by us to be guilty of treason and/or corruption. Any ideas about how to get that accomplished???

Richard Burr and Kay Hagan are in N Carolina not North Dakota. I live in NC
My thought are this... these people have become the tyranny the constitution speaks of. They are treasonists and we have a right and duty to fight them. I say lets starve them out of office. Cut off the flow of money. Is that not what the boston Tea Part was about? No taxation without representation. We sure are not being represented are we???

It might make the most sense to select a Senator where a recall is most likely to succeed (based on reasons allowed and actual actions of a Senator in that state). Then conservatives across the country could help with the effort... either financially or boots on the ground to collect signatures etc. Perhaps showing the power of The People will get them to reconsider their votes. Busying some of them with a lawsuit like was done to Sarah Palin several times would make my day. Just a thought...

Mary Landrieu is either stupid or currupt, I think its the latter. She looks so cute but is so deadly, ignoring the will of the people. She is completely bought over and needs to be recalled. Need Louisianas to petition the governor and legislators to start the process to be able to impeach, or recall US Senators who do not do the will of their constituents. People wo sell out their vote are no better than the street walkers.

[...] Realistic? Probably not. But, as Eric mentions, many of these people are up for re-election in 2010. It’s worth making a list and checking it twice now as we get ready to kick these traitors out next November. Many of these Senators are up for re-election in 2010. I believe our time would be best spent beating them at the ballot box first. But for those who are not, or those who use their power and money to defeat the people in 2010, recall initiatives should be launched to remove them. [...]

I live in Indiana. Our state is not on the list. Senator Bayh (D) is up for re-election in 2010. In the meantime, can our state legislatures pass a law to recall a senator based on the provisions of other states? Our 2nd is Senator Lugar(R) which we believe is a RINO. If he doesn't change his ways, he needs to be ousted.

Why would you want to recall Jon Kyl or John McCain. It makes me think you're silly even considering it.

removable by voting them out, or a recall, it makes little difference to me, as long as we show them who elected who, and who is paying the bills.
