I have some great news about a project we’re working on that we believe has the potential to become a major player in the online media realm. I’ll tell you about the project, along with ways you can get involved shortly. First, I want to talk about the path we took to lead us to this project.
For those who do not know, Ken Marrero and I have been deeply involved in content websites for many years. In fact, before I got in to politics I independently managed travel websites. At the same time, I was also doing online marketing for a major US Bank.
The combination of these two efforts dealt me a wealth of experience in running content oriented web portals. In 2007 and 2008, I was a privately contracted consultant for one of the largest wiki projects outside of Wikipedia itself. During this time I also worked with a blog hosting site that at one point had almost 300 fully active blogs/bloggers.
In 2008 I also developed the foundation work for NewsPlatoon, a project that was aimed at setting up state based news sites. This project provided me with a painful lesson in the requirements of running a large scale, high content web portal.
My point here is that we’ve had a great deal of experience in this realm. We’ve worked on major projects that were successful beyond our wildest imagination (the wiki project, for example, had more than a million and a half visits on election day alone!). But we’ve also worked on some difficult projects that ultimately failed.
But we learned. We learned what works and what doesn’t. We learned about different structure, different models, different systems, etc. We learned what to do vs. what not to do.
Now that the American Liberty Alliance can proudly claim tens of thousands of members, the Tea Party Movement is in full swing, and the liberty movement in general is looking for immediate action, we’re ready to roll out the final version of what we see as the next logical step for us.
Online Media News Hubs
There is no question that our side is “catching up” when it comes to online media and news outlets. For example, you have HotAir.com and Michelle Malkin dominating the blogosphere with daily doses of everything that’s hot. We have RedState.com with its high impact, high response rate community of center-right activists. We have the guys over at TheNextRight.com putting together more strategic thoughts and updates.
When it comes to blogs, our side has far more of them. And we’re quickly catching up on the readership. The only thing that seems to be missing as a comprehensive gathering spot for all the news.
I mean, I despise a lot of what is written at Huffington Post. But the reality is… they’re good at it. They cover very wide ranges of topics and they cover them well.
On our side you need to visit a good ten sites in the morning to get the full web digest. On their side you just go to Huffington Post and you know about everything that’s happening.
Our News Project
There is no point in trying to hide it… we’re going to give it a go. We’re going to pool our collective experience, build an editorial team that can put together a content army. We’re going to release our own “movement” minded news portal.
The site will be a little more “independent” with its branding. We’re not going to be red this or conservative that. We’re just going to go float the daily news and make it as user friendly as possible.
Project 73
We’re not really ready to go public with this project just yet. We have the branding, we have the domains, we’re already coding and working on the site, but we aren’t ready to release it to the world. So for now, we’ll just refer to it as “Project 73.”
Now in order to make this work, we’re going to have to build a brigade of citizen journalists. More than 350 of our members checked the “I want to blog” option when registering, so we know we have a lot of folks who are looking to generate some news.
This is good. Because we need you. All of you.
Citizen journalism is beating down biased, liberal media every day. We’ve got a ton of citizen journalists on our side. Now it’s time to put a call out for us to unify and begin working as a team.
We’re hoping that Project 73 can help with this.
Editorial Team
We’re currently working on putting together an editorial team to manage the day to day operations of the site and keep an eye on the content that hits our front page. This will be lead by a “Managing Team” that will act as the Site Admins and Chief Editors.
Under this team will be a group of category editors/leaders. The following are the categories we’re going to be implementing right out of the gate.

-Entertainment

Bloggers/Citizen Journalist Wanted
Of course, we’re going to need as many citizen journalists as possible to work under these categories. If you’re ready to start playing a bigger role in the movement, if you’re ready to change the online environment for the better, if you’re ready to help us confront this left wing attack on our way of life, you need to join our team.
All bloggers/writers are required to submit two posts per week (minimum). There is a revenue sharing system in place that will help you earn revenue on the posts you get published. The more content you get published, and the more views it receives, the higher your chances will be that you can actually make some money from this as well.
It’s time to take control of our country. It’s time to take control of the information being passed around. It’s time to take control of our future.
The time is now.

I enjoy writing comments on the New York Times and Washington Post. I can write articles. I wrote a book but needed help from a publisher. I am a former mayor of a small town: Dundee, Florida. I am 72 years old. If I can help I am willing.
I wanted to add that I am familiar with how our town has instituted an impact fee that cost $ 26,000.00 to get a permit to build a home. I am a state certified builder, mortgage broker, and real estate broker. We had banks beat our company out of over $ 5 million dollars by bankruptcy of the bank… I know how “legal extortion” work in Dundee, Florida by our mayor and town council.
“Morticians for National Health Care” will be happy to participate, as will our subsidiaries “Vampires for National Health Care” and “Pirates for National Health Care.”
We’ve been lobbying hard on Capitol Hill to pass ObamaCare; with it our business will boom! We’ll soon be the only growth industry left in the United States!

I’ve been involved in written Congress persons, Senators, the speaker of the house, even the President of the USA, for almost 20 years now. The conflicting letters I get from them all are so horrible. Most of them contradict each other or come up with the craziest stories you can imagine. The most I get from them all are political speeches. They follow the speeches of the President.
I don’t know how I can help, but I’ll try and do anything you like to help. Just give me the direction of which one’s you want me to write and the questions to ask? I’ll send in every letter I get back from anyone of them.

I helped rally with the Ketchikan TEA Party (ketchikanteaparty.com) movement, I routinely write my congressmen, and I’m passionate about politics, military, home school movement, small business, etc. I have written a few Letters to the Editor in the Juneau Empire newspaper, as well as blogging on Sitnews.com and other various sites.
Being a mother of four home schooled children, I am interested in preserving their futures in the U.S. I am not a professional writer, but would love to contribute to Project 73.

Wow, Eric – looks like a lot of people are interested! So THIS is what you’ve been up to this week, eh? I’m down for doing a weekly editorial, as you might have imagined.
I am not sure what more you wish to know. I am very active in the Georgia political activities and have a fairly good following from the Tax Reform activities.
I am most interested in organizing all 3141 Precincts into an activists groups locally. The Precincts are already established. If organized correctly, they can become neighborhood go to organizations for the voting public. They should not in my opinion be related to any political Party. All should be welcome. I see this as an opportunity for ALA to rapidly motivate a strong political force. It would be easy to have mini ALA meetings in a Precinct and actually establish a virtual Precinct open to all as well. I believe it could go hand in hand with what ALA seems to be heading.
I have written a Precinct Handbook (for the DeKalb Republicans – but they do not seem interested. It occurs to me, that making it totally independent is the better way to go. If you are interested, shoot me an email address and I will forward the Handbook to you. The DeKalb Party has ordered me not to go forward with organizing my own Precinct – 209 Lavista plus the three contiguous Precincts. Therefore the Handbook that I shall send you is not to be passed along with any reference to DeKalb County Republicans.

I probably didn’t write even a Letter to the Editor until a year ago. I have written several articles for Liberty Features and I believe that one will be published in American Thinker. I am interested in writing for any publication that has the potential to widen the audience that obtains news from somewhere other than mainstream media. Tolerating media bias is one thing, tolerating propaganda is something entirely different. I do not know if I have a talent to contribute or not. I started the http://www.Hideawaygrassroots.com group about 6 months ago. I lead a group of 6 who act as the leadership team for the group. We are considering changing out name from grassroots to teaparty as that seems to be the dominate name of the two. I took 62 individuals to the 912 tea party. I would love to take part as a Blogger/Citizen Journalist, I would like to specialize in what President Obama is really saying, I think that most people do not realize what this guy really wants and that they are going to keep on complaining and take no action themselves, it is time for Americans to take back our country, this President is not telling the citizens of the United States the whole truth and he will continue to duck and dodge the questions at hand as long as we let him, it is time for us to pull all of our resources together and make sure the left wing nut jobs are not going to be in control for much longer, I tried to send Bill O’reilly an important reporting of some truths being ignored about this healthscare plan and never even received as much as an Email back, I guess I did not keep it pithy enough, but all subjects cannot be kept pithy if people want to know the full truth.
